SPHERISIL-P Process
The Spherisil-P Process is a further development from the Sioplas System, offering cost and handling advantages for large scale, cost efficient productions of PE-Xb pipes. No previous extrusion by you or others is necessary any more.
The advantages of PE - Xb produced with the Sioplas system are kept.
SILON International GmbH in Düsseldorf, Germany, offers the complete technology package, the recipe, the raw material components as well as the Know How of this process.
Range of supply and suppliers
The Spherisil P – Technology is a common project of SILON and her partners and includes the raw material concept, the equipment for storing the Silane, the dryers and conveying equipment, the dosing equipment (INOEX), extruders and following equipment (e.g. Battenfeld, Krauss Maffei). The prices for the complete technology components will be offered separately by the
partners.
In case of expansions of already installed extruders, we have to draw the customer’s attention to the fact, that we do not have sufficient experience with this technique, so that tests will be necessary in any case. We expect that expansions will have to be effected on the level of the dosing technique, the Silane storing and possibly on the level of the screw and the tools. The amount of the expansion has to be defined specially for each case.
The basic Technology
SILON has developed a special absorbent Polymer preparation the “SPHERISIL P” or “SPHERISIL C”. The Polymer surface of the SPHERISIL soaks up the liquid Silane-blend SILMIX, directly during the mixing of our dosing equipment. As positive effect, no slipping and dripping of liquids are possible. Using this process there is no negative influence compared to a Standard-extrusion. The absorbed Silane is available during the whole melt flow and so the grafting is not influenced by deviated concentrations and give constant reaction of the Silane. The production runs with smooth conditions. The storage of the raw materials is compared to grafted Sioplas-Compound very easy, by using Silos and the recommended Silane storage chamber.
Due to this polymer preparation, the chemical reaction works fast, stable and specific.

Using the above mentioned technology and raw materials we were running the process under production conditions for a period of one week before cleaning, running figures must be fixed separately. These five days are reached at our pilot line in our company SILON s.r.o Tabor / CZ.
A tailor-made formulation can be developed by our research and development department.
